"I {am} trying to demonstrate the importance of education to my community and my village, and bring education closer to the needy who couldn't afford to send their kids to boarding school" - Dickson, Founder of Puan Primary
In Partnership with Basecamp Foundation USA, donations made to Puan Primary (via Basecamp) are eligible for tax deduction in the U.S.; 100% of the donation is sent to Puan Primary.
About Basecamp Foundation USA: We work for the survival of wildlife and advancement of the Maasai people, two groups that live together and share this extraordinary land today, as they have for centuries. Our goal is to ensure the indigenous people, the animals, and the environment benefit from tourism in the Mara, and from contributions by global citizens dedicated to protecting and advancing this fierce and fragile eco-system: the Maasai Mara.
Puan Primary is always willing to accept volunteers on site. However, the school desperately needs resources to continue to send more students on scholarship, grow with more teachers, and build out more classrooms.
The Friends of Puan are focused on fundraising for permanent classrooms and permanent teacher housing. Moving current semi-permanent structures to permanent will allow Puan Primary to register as a Government school, providing additional access to funding.
